Phil is a recreational athlete that knows the pain of injury but also knows the pain of having old injuries come back to haunt him. After managing a worsening, disc herniation, that left one leg numb and weak for nearly 6 months, he began the painstaking process of re-claiming his fitness and health, inch by inch, through a regimented rehab protocol for the lumbar spine. Wanting to avoid surgery if at all possible, he worked diligently in a lumbar stabilization program culminating in completion of a half marathon after 6 months of training. With the ability to empathize with his patients, he has developed a caring but demanding approach to rehabilitation that realizes results without dismissing the patients emotional and psychological needs. He believes in a partnership with his patients and expects that his hard work to help them achieve success will be matched by their willingness to do what is necessary to help their bodies recover.
